Jackalope Art Fair November 17 2018

What happens when over 200 local vendors got together in Pasadena this past weekend?! We go crazy shopping! We were in awe of the amazing artists at this new art fest in Central Park. We highly support local artists. There's nothing more special than spotting those special pieces whether it's hand-made jewelry, candles, soaps, wall art, or vintage watches.
Check out our favorite finds below!
This company caught our eyes with their gorgeous hand woven wall tapestry! Then we looked around, & they had hanging wall plants hanging on copper & brass, dainty jewelry pieces, succulents, wallets, and caftans. There was so much cute stuff on every corner!
Who doesn't love a good vintage find?  This company's handbags are handcrafted with genuine leather and printed blanket weight Pendleton wool  bought directly from the Pendleton® Woolen Mills in Portland, Oregon.  They are super stylish and functional!  What also caught our eyes were their handcrafted, restored vintage watch faces with genuine leather.  Every watch has a different strap designed specifically to the vintage face it is paired with.  Check out the watches we went home with below!
This company was such a surprise with their soy candles in plantable packaging! Yes, we said plantable packaging for those of you with green thumbs like us. How amazing! This makes us so happy, because who doesn't love a double whammy? How empowering is the quote on top of the box? "When one candle lights another, its light is not diminished by being shared.  The light given off together is greater than the light of one."
Make sure you check out this trendy fair. The best way to describe this event was Etsy Live! Think of all of your favorite artists on Etsy, & you'll get a perfect idea of just how fun this was for the senses. Maybe not so fun for our wallets, but we can say we supported local artists to justify all our purchases!

Paris Patisserie is Always a Good Idea! October 26 2018

Paris is always a good idea!  We decided to take a last minute trip to this amazing city, and this wonderful piece of history having its beginnings in 1730, was exactly what we were looking for in a Parisienne Patisserie!   This is the oldest patisserie in Paris located on Rue Montorgueil - which is an amazing shopping street!  Stohrer is filled with a lot of charm with its beautifully painted ceilings, mosaic floors, chandeliers, and delectable pastries displayed like precious jewels behind the glass display cases.
It was really hard to pick which pastries to try as they were all calling our name!  Food highlights for us were the eclaires, pain au chocolat, puits d'amore, and the baba au rhum (invented here).  Everything melted in our mouths!  Our only regret was that we didn't buy a lot more treats from here, because they were all so tasty!  We will definitely come back to this patisserie heaven.  This place is truly a gem of history and a gastronomical delight!
